Student Field Trip Subsidy

One of the organisers of the inaugural ICFS in 1977 was Derald Smith of the University of Calgary. He was instrumental in bringing the ICFS back to Calgary for its 40th anniversary.

Unfortunately Derald passed away in 2015 but a generous donation from Peter Putnam will allow students to enjoy a reduced rate on all field trips in his honour. Derald was passionate about taking students into the field and often said that 10-years from now you might not remember my lectures, but you will always remember the field trip.
